UW College of Business Dean to Speak in Sheridan Friday

University of Wyoming College of Business Dean Brent Hathaway will speak at noon Friday at a Rotary meeting in Sheridan.

Hathaway's talk will focus on the UW College of Business' initiatives that have been inspired by principles in Jim Owen's “Code of the West”. Hathaway explained, during Wednesday's Public Pulse, the two goals the college is working on right now that he will touch on.

Author Jim Owen had ten principles in his book “Cowboy Ethics: What Wall Street Can Learn from the Code of the West”. Hathaway agreed that the code has been described as “the golden rule of the west”. These principles are taught in their business ethics classes at UW. He explains further how the code fits into doing business in Wyoming.

Hathaway serves on the Board of Directors for Double Eagle Petroleum and on the board for the UW Foundation.
