Uranium Mining Renaissance for Wyoming?

While uranium mining is becoming more regulated across the U.S., Wyoming is seeing a boom in the industry across the state.

Daryle Murphy is conservation chair of the Wyoming Chapter of the Sierra Club. He says current methods are safer, and have a smaller footprint. He says projects could affect sage grouse.

Another issue Wyoming is faced with is protecting underground water supplies. Murphy says that safer methods are more widely practiced these days, but accidents still do happen.

The investigation is taking place at the facilities of Uranium One, in Canada.
