Wednesday we told you about the continued decline in the state's unemployment rate, as it has been dropping since December of 2009 when the jobless rate was 7.7%. Sheridan Workforce Center Manager Chanda Richards says that Sheridan County has also experienced a slight decline in their unemployment rate.

Richards indicated that it's pretty typical to see a drop in the jobless rate during the spring and summer months.

Richards said that the unemployment rate for Sheridan County is much better than it was last year at this time when it was at 7.2% for the month of June compared to the 6.2% that the latest figures show.
