Turning Lives Around: WYCP Still Accepting Applications

The next session for Wyoming's Youth Challenge Program is taking applications through Wednesday. Sheridan Media's Betsy Love has more:

Wyoming's 5-month Youth Challenge Program probably does not, at first, sound like a "good time" for your average teenager. Dave Guliano,Deputy Director, explains the typical day for these high school age youth:

In addition, he says each of the cadets performs 40 to 50 hours of community service:

But even if some aspects of the Wyoming Youth Challenge Program do turn out to be "fun," that isn't exactly the primary goal of the program. Kids who enter the program have dropped out of high school. Youth who finish the program, however, are an entirely different story:

The five month program Challenge program is voluntary and open to Wyoming youth who have dropped out of high school. In addition, parents are not required to pay tuition or other costs associated with the program.
