The contract of Dr. Paul Young, college president and CEO of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, has been renewed for another five years, until 2022.

College District trustees approved the renewal in their meeting Thursday night. Also in the meeting, trustees approved the appointment of Nicholas “Nick” Pierson to the Sheridan College Foundation board for a three-year term that ends in 2020.

In other action, trustees approved a resolution in support of an application by the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority, also known as SEEDA, for a grant and loan of just under $12.6 million to assist in funding Project Enterprise, a manufacturing facility in the Sheridan High-Tech Park. The application would be to the Wyoming Business Council.

As Sheridan Media reported earlier, the SEEDA board has already approved the resolution, but Young said the resolution must also be separately approved by the two members of SEEDA, which are the college district and the city of Sheridan.

On another matter, Young said Sheridan College now has a street address. He told trustees that, for a long time, the college's official address was a post office box.

In other action, trustees approved First Federal Savings Bank and First Interstate Bank as depositories for college district funds, and gave second and final approval to the district's “Code of Ethics” Policy.
