Trustees of the Northern Wyoming Community College District hope to have a new president on board on July 1.

That's according to Pamila Fisher, who announced the timeline for the presidential search at a public forum in Sheridan earlier this week. The district's current president, Dr. Paul Young, announced in October that he will retire at the end of the current fiscal year. Fisher is a consultant with the Association of Community College Trustees, who is helping to coordinate the search for a new president.

A presidential search committee held its first meeting on Friday for orientation and training. Fisher said the committee members also took an oath on Friday that they would not share any confidential information regarding the search.

Target date for receipt of applications for the position is Jan. 30, and the search committee is scheduled to meet on Feb. 19 and 20 to interview semi-finalists.

Fisher said public forums are planned for March 4 at Sheridan and Gillette colleges for finalists in the search, and the finalists will meet for interviews with the college district trustees on March 5.

At this time, an announcement of the new president is planned in mid-March.
