Traveling Mammogram Van To Access Uninsured Women in Wyo.

Traveling Mammogram Van To Access Uninsured Women in Wyo.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation, in partnership with GE, announced earlier this week that a traveling mammogram van will make rounds around the state to offer the lifesaving test to uninsured and rural women. Lynn Erdman, vice president of community health with the foundation, said Wyoming women are lagging behind when it comes to screening for breast cancer.

The van is going to make two trips around the state conducting mammograms for uninsured or under-insured women. Erdman said the travel schedule hasn't been nailed down just yet.

The foundation hopes to screen 15,000 women in Wyoming by the end of the tour, and is also donating $1 million to organizations throughout the state to help women get screened. Sheridan Media will keep you updated when local dates for the van's appearance are released.
