Transit of Venus Is Today

Sheridanites have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the planet Venus transit across the sun in a rare, eclipse-like event. Rob Milne, an instructor at Sheridan College, explains what's going to happen.

This event cannot be seen with the naked eye, so interested parties should meet outside the college's Museum of Discovery at 6 p.m. to pick up safety glasses and even see the event through a professional-grade telescope. Milne explains what it might look like.

This solar event won't happen again for 105 years. To learn more about this astronomical event, click here.
