In mid October, the Sheridan County Commissioners approved to move forward with a traffic study around the County Courthouse that not only takes a look at vehicle traffic, but pedestrian traffic as well. County Public Works Director Rod Liesinger says that while a lot of the focus has been on the intersection of Burkitt and Brooks Street, the consultants are looking at all traffic flow and patterns around the courthouse.

The whole goal of the traffic study is to keep the employees of the courthouse and the public that uses it as safe as possible.

Liesinger said that some preliminary findings from the study may be available to county staff by the end of December.
