The Second Chance Sheridan Cat Rescue reported they were able to spay or neuter 339 cats and dogs last weekend.

In addition, 228 pets were vaccinated for rabies and 152 pets received microchips. Numbers were down this year compared to last, but event organizer Rachel Kristiansen said their work isn't done.

Kristiansen said leftover grant money from this weekend's event will go toward future, smaller events. The rescue has a goal to spay or neuter 1,000 pets this year. So far, they've done 372.
