This weekend is the annual Flying Cowboys Fly-In, an event held for remote-controlled airplanes and their pilots. John Steir, president of the local club said nearly 60 pilots, from a five state region are on hand, flying their machines from dawn until dusk both Saturday and today.

From loop de loops, barrel rolls, stalls, and other unusual tricks, the public is invited to come out and to watch and view the nearly 200 planes on display. Steir said many of these pilots have flown for years.

Mainly a man’s sport, Debbie Patton enjoys flying the planes along with knitting while watching others fly.

The Fly-In is located at the Sheridan County Sportsman’s Club west on 5th Street.
