Thorne-Rider Building Named Outstanding Project

Sheridan College's Thorne-Rider Campus Center has been named an Outstanding Project by Learning by Design Magazine in the magazine's 2015 Awards of Excellence publication.

College Facilities Director Kent Andersen says if a college receives an honor from a magazine, this is the magazine the college wants to receive the honor from.

The magazine cites, quote, “better connection and campus access, updated, community-centered food services and 21st-century-learning student gathering spaces” attained through innovative design among reasons for awarding the Thorne-Rider facility. The article also notes that the improved dining venue has become a lunch destination for the community.

Award winners were selected by a panel of architects from across the United States. The magazine recognized two Wyoming colleges, Sheridan and Northwest. Both projects were done by CTA Architects.
