Elected officials representing Dayton, Ranchester, Clearmont, Sheridan and Sheridan County met Monday afternoon to discuss renewing the Capital Facilities Tax this November. In 2009, Sheridan County voters passed the Cap Tax with almost 70 percent of the vote in favor of the renewal. There was no specific amount or length of the tax that was agreed upon, however, officials discussed $35 million over six years as an option. One thing that the group did agree on was the formation of a task force that will have a couple of representatives from each entity.

The Task Force will spend the next month putting together project lists and cost estimates of those projects. The election to renew the Cap Tax would be November 5th of this year.
