Suspected Child Pornographer Appears Before Federal Magistrate

A Sheridan man faces Federal charges after certain images were found on his computer. 28-year-old Christopher Brown faces 3 counts of sexual exploitation of children. There is one count each of possession, receiving, and transporting child pornography. Brown was arrested last weekend based on a several month investigation conducted by Wyoming’s Division of Criminal Investigation. He made his initial appearance Tuesday before Federal Magistrate Judge David Smith.

The prosecution has filed a motion to hold a detention hearing for Brown. If the judge finds for the government at that hearing, Brown would be ineligible for bond and would remain incarcerated throughout the court proceedings.

Judge Smith agreed to combine the detention hearing and Brown’s preliminary hearing. The date for the hearings has not been set.

Brown faces up to 50 years in prison and $750,000 in fines if he’s convicted on all counts.

Why should this menece be allowed to walk the streets ever again? Wyoming needs to step up and become the first state to allow public caining to help prevent perverts and molesters from ruining the lifes of innocent children! I for one am tired of having to support the low lifes who prey on the weak and inocent and then walk away and live happier ever after! 10 strokes with a salt soaked piece of bamboo would surley make these people think twice and if not next time it would be twenty! Sentencing to be carried out on Grinnell plaza at noon on Saturdays.
