Students Give Free Massages to Community

Six Sheridan College massage therapy students gave free chair massages to employees of Sheridan organizations and businesses this week to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week.

The students included Rachel Hetler of Sheridan, Alexander Hokanson of Newcastle, Kathleen Troy of Wheatland, Laura Ross of Veteran, Monica Norfolk of Gillette, Angel Tapia of Rock Springs and Jennifer Berg of Casper.

Area residents nominated businesses and organizations to receive the massages. Nominations were based on the business or organization's service to the Sheridan area, and selection of recipients was by random drawing. Those who received the free massages included employees of Easter Seals of Wyoming, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, Sheridan Senior Center, Davis & Cannon LLP, Sheridan Surgical Center, the Wyoming Port of Entry and Sheridan WYO Dental.

A news release from the college stated that massage therapy students will give chair massages to employees of the Child Development Center Preschool later this spring.
