A parade, book sale at the library and lunch provided by the Story Woman's Club was just part of a full day of activities Saturday during Story Days.

The three-day event in the community south of Sheridan started Friday and continues Sunday with Worship in the Park, a picnic lunch at noon and the annual disc golf tournament at the park starting at 1 p.m.

Sherri Hickman, who's a member of the Woman's Club and one of three grand marshals in this year's Story Days parade, said this is the 32nd Story Days.

Joan Griffin, another Woman's Club member, said there were three grand marshals in the parade this year, in honor of the Woman's Club celebrating its centennial.

Griffin said all four are lifetime trustees of the Woman's Club.

The Woman's Club, as in years past, provided a pulled pork and pie lunch at the club building starting at 11 a.m. Also Saturday morning, the book sale was held at the Story Branch Library.

Stephanie Hutt, who's the library's manager, wasn't sure how long the book sale has been part of Story Days, but she said it's been at least eight years.

Other events Saturday included the Story Volunteer Firemen's breakfast, served from 7 to 10 a.m., a car show in the Lodore parking lot, the Story Woman's Club duck races and “kids tournaments,” a petting zoo, volleyball and horseshoes, all starting at the Wagon Box at 3 p.m.

Other activities included vendors, food vendors and a cook-off that started at 8 a.m. Cook-off food tasting started at 3 p.m.
