Sheridan County law enforcement are keeping their eyes open for a suspect that stole a vehicle Wednesday night in Sheridan and led officers on a high speed chase. Sheridan Police Lieutenant Chris Dahmke explains how the incident started shortly after 10 pm.

Dahmke said that the vehicle continued eastbound reaching speeds up to 80 mph, braking and slowing down several times, attempting to cause a crash with the pursuing SPD officer's vehicle.

Dahmke says that at about mile marker 3.5 on Highway 14 East, the vehicle left the roadway.

Dahmke stated that the red Dodge pickup was taken back to the SPD impound lot where it is being processed for evidence. The suspect driver of the vehicle is described as a white male with black collar length hair and was wearing a white shirt and a white stocking cap with a black emblem. Anyone with any information about this crime can call the Sheridan Police Department at 672-2413.
