‘Step Up’ Grant Allows Alcohol Awareness Training

Posted in

A grant in the amount of $13,600 from the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association has allowed the University of Wyoming to begin training in a new bystander intervention program. Monica Keele is the coordinator of the university’s Alcohol Wellness Alternatives, Research and Education program, known as AWARE. She says the grant will support a program called Set UP, that teaches students to offer effective assistance in potentially dangerous situations.

Keele said the full Step UP program will be launched this fall as part of the university’s alcohol awareness programming.
