State Revenue Projections Hold Steady

Wyoming legislators shouldn't expect any last-minute financial windfalls to spare them from the need to make tough budget choices in the session that starts next month.

The latest revenue estimate for Wyoming state government released on Friday is virtually unchanged from the previous estimate released three months ago. Governor Dave Freudenthal said that he agrees with the Consensus Revenue Estimating Group’s decision to maintain a bottom-line estimate similar to their October figures.

The estimate of state revenues over the next four years is almost $2 million lower than October's estimate. But officials say that's hardly significant given that the state budget is about $3 billion every two years.
