State Representative Mike Madden of Buffalo said this year's Legislative Session has been surprisingly light in the number of bills that have been introduced and there have been few significant changes in the ones that have been amended.
Madden said he has been pleasantly surprised by what has taken place in the Capitol so far this year, especially with the redistricting bill introduced this week.
The bill that Madden sponsored, HB0051, pertaining to industrial siting impact payments being designated to local governments that are actually impacted, was introduced Wednesday with no negative votes, he said, and will move on for further consideration.
The Hedonic Wage Index, or cost adjustment bill that would have negatively impacted some local school districts died this week, and for good cause Madden said. It needs some work, in his opinion, and that may happen later in the session, as he expects a version of the bill to be brought back by the senate to be amended by the Legislature.
We will have more updates from Representative Madden throughout this year's Wyoming Legislative Session.
