State Legislature Considers Gas Tax

The State of Wyoming is under a budget crunch, and one of the ways to tease out funding is to implement a gas tax.

Wyoming state legislator, Mike Madden, says he's heard from a lot of constituant orginizations that would be for the new gas tax.

Other associations Madden named include the Wyoming Truckers Association, The Contractors Association, County Commissioners Association and the Wyoming Association of Municipalities.

Madden said the state legislature, as a whole, is expecting as much as a 50 percent turnover rate after elections in the fall, and that could greatly alter projected outcomes of any legislation currently being considered.
