State Legislature Adjourns

The Wyoming State Legislative season is over for another year as of this week. Before district representatives headed home, Senate Minority Leader, Chris Rothfuss, provided an insightful summary of this year's session.

This legislature tacked 429 bills that were introduced, resulting in the passing of a new gas tax, establishing a state lottery, keeping gun control measures at bay, declining the Federal Medicaid expansion option, eliminating the position of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, and establishing a state budget in a down economy. The legislature did all that, and a lot more, in 36 days.
