In less than two months, Wyoming lawmakers will convene in Cheyenne for the budget session. State Representative Kathy Coleman said that she expects the Governor's proposed pay raises to be a contentious issue during the session. Mead's proposed $3.3 billion general fund budget calls for almost $90 million in pay raises for state employees and educators.

Coleman says that education will most likely once again garner a lot of attention.

The 2014 budget session will get underway Monday, February 10 with the joint session of the Wyoming Legislature and the State of the State address by Governor Mead.
