State of the Judiciary

Wyoming Supreme Court Chief Justice E. James Burke delivered the State of the Judiciary Address Monday during the joint session of the Wyoming Legislature at the Jonah Business Center in Cheyenne Monday.

Chief Justice Burke said that one of the ideals in the judiciary is embodied in the first sentence of the Constitution.

Burke also commended the “We the People” program, which is a civics program for high school students around the state. The competitive program tests the student’s knowledge of the U.S. Constitution. Sheridan High School recently won the state competition in Laramie for the fifth year in a row. They will compete in the National Finals competition in Washington D.C. at the end of April.
