Sportsmen Donate Proceeds to Cancer Center

The Sheridan County Sportsman's Association chose the Patient Care Comfort Program at Sheridan’s Welch Cancer Center as the beneficiary of funds raised in a trap shoot last month.

The donation was announced Friday by Ada Kirven, who is director of the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation.

She said the $1,700 donation came from proceeds of the association's third annual H&R Block Cancer Trap Shoot held at the end of June. The shoot is registered by the Amateur Trapshooting Association and drew men and women from across Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota, according to the sportsman's association.

The Foundation director said donations from organizations like the sportsman's association allow the hospital and the cancer center to do extra little things that can make a big difference in their patients' experience.
