Whether or not to build a proposed sports complex with baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, parking and a restroom/concessions area will be discussed at a public information meeting to be held at Buffalo High School Thursday, June 2nd.

The meeting was organized by City of Buffalo and Johnson County officials to determine the public's opinion on the matter.

City Planner Zach Montgomery, who helped organize the meeting, said they will present information and correct some misinformation so those in attendance can make an informed decision.

Montgomery said he has been helping to get the project moving forward because it is proposed to be built on City property, and the people involved have done the groundwork so far by themselves. He explains.

One rumor is that the water and soil are not acceptable for this type of complex. He said there are some challenges, but they can be worked through.

The complex is proposed to be built over the existing fields at Centennial Park and expanded.

The meeting will begin at 6 pm Thursday evening at BHS, and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
