SPD: Teen Curfews Need to be Followed

Wednesday marked the first day of summer, which means that there are a lot of kids out and about for their summer break from school. While there certainly isn't anything wrong with an influx of the younger generation becoming more visible to the public during their much needed break, there are curfews in the City of Sheridan that sometimes go overlooked by parents. Sheridan Police Officer Dan White explains just what the curfew is for those under the age of 14.

White said that for the months of June, July and August, that curfew time is extended to 10:30 pm. For youth ages 14 to 18, curfew is from 10:30 pm to 4:30 am except for Friday and Saturday. Similar to curfew for those younger than 14, that time is extended for kids 14 to 18 during the summer months to midnight.

White says that the parent or guardian can be held accountable if the child breaks curfew.

The fine for breaking curfew in the City of Sheridan is $95. Join us Friday as we'll hear more from Officer White regarding curfews in Sheridan.
