When Stacie Mack, owner and director of Big Steps Early Learning Center in Sheridan, found that rent and energy costs were holding her business back, she made the switch to solar energy, the cost efficiency of which allowed her to put more money back into her business. Richard Mack, owner and operator of Premier Electric Inc. in Sheridan, describes how solar energy is becoming more accessible in the Sheridan area.

Stacie was able to take advantage of a 25% REAP grant through the USDA, as well as a 30% federal tax credit, both of which many commercial and residential projects could qualify for, to assist in paying for the installation. She explains how the lower energy cost has given her the opportunity to improve her business.
