Small Post Offices To Cut Hours

Small Post Offices To Cut Hours

The United States Postal Service has been expected to announce thousands of small offices would be closing due to low revenue, but for now, there's another solution in place.

Instead of completely removing service in remote areas, hours will be reduced. An automated informational message released by the post office said these changes will be implemented in phases, and no changes will happen right away.

It will be postal employees who bear the brunt of the hourly reduction at small offices. Employees whose stations aren't allotted enough hours will lose their federal benefits, including health insurance and vacation time. Nearby offices with reduced hours include Big Horn, Arveda, Clearmont, Recluse and Dayton. To see a detailed list of hour reductions and locations impacted,
