SLIB Board Awards Funds for Sheridan Projects

The State Loan and Investment Board at their meeting in Cheyenne Thursday approved funding for various projects for the City of Sheridan.

The SLIB Board approved a $300,000 Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan and a $600,000 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loan for the Loucks Street Phase 2 reconstruction project.

The $300,000 loan comes with an interest rate of 2.5 percent and 50 percent principal forgiveness, while the $600,000 loan has an interest rate of 2.5 percent and a 24 percent principal forgiveness.

SLIB also approved funding for a $44,000 planning grant through the Wyoming Business Council for the Sheridan Renewable Energy Assessment. According to a release from the City, the goal of the project is to analyze the potential for renewable energy production throughout the community. Opportunities and barriers to renewable energy projects, particularly solar power, will be explored for both residential and commercial scale development.
