The State Lands and Investments Board (SLIB) has approved the Consensus Grant Funds submitted by Johnson County, City of Buffalo and Town of Kaycee for expansion and renovation projects at both the Buffalo and Kaycee Branches of the Johnson County Library.

County Commissioner Jim Hicks reported the award during this week's commission meeting.

Hicks said the grant amount approved is for $1,022,423 with $1 million going to the Buffalo branch and the remainder going to Kaycee's branch.

He said the commissioners went to Cheyenne for the SLIB meeting and were given a bit of a surprise.

The commission approved Commission Chair Hicks to sign the grant documents and return them to the SLIB.
