'Silicon Valley to Wyoming – A High-Tech Entrepreneur’s Journey'

An entrepreneur who blends California and Wyoming business knowledge will speak tonight in Sheridan about creating a different kind of high-paying job for a younger generation.

Gene Watson's talk will discuss combining hard working qualities of Wyoming with California's innovative technology industry in a presentation titled “Silicon Valley to Wyoming – A High-Tech Entrepreneur's Journey”. Watson began his career in Silicon Valley and now heads the Wyoming SBIR/STTR program at the University of Wyoming, helping fund both businesses and individuals in their entrepreneurial efforts.

John Dick is with the Wyoming Technology and Business Center at UW. He conducts the E2E StartWest meetings every two months in Sheridan, like the one Wednesday night. He says Watson's talk centers around the issue of promoting a growing business culture in Wyoming in an area that the state may be lacking.

The presentation will be from 5:30 to 7 tonight at the Holiday Inn in Sheridan. For more information click here. It's free and open to the public.
