Sheridan High School has garnered recognition for excellence from the U.S. News and World Report, and the school's We the People team has been one of the dominant forces in the state.
Those are just two of the honors cited by Principal Brent Leibach at graduation ceremonies Sunday afternoon in Homer Scott Stadium. Molly Steel, one of the Sheridan County School District 2 trustees, presented diplomas to nearly 200 seniors during the event.
Alison Vold, who's a Spanish teacher and instructional facilitator at the high school, was commencement speaker. She talked about the journey of high school and the truth about becoming an adult.
Also speaking were Paden Koltiska, this year's Salutatorian, and Olivia Boley, the Valedictorian. The choral group Spectrum sang the National Anthem at the start of ceremonies and performed a musical selection later in the event.
