Sheridan's First Federal Announces New Name

Sheridan's First Federal Savings Bank has a new name.

Bank President and CEO David J. Ferries said the new name of First Federal Bank & Trust will be in use later this year, and complete integration is planned for January. He said the name change was approved by the federal office of the comptroller of the currency this month.

The CEO said First Federal is a federal mutual association, and the new name is a vital step in regulations and a milestone for the bank, which was established in Sheridan in 1935. He said the name was created to reflect the bank's continuity in the community as well as the institution's financial soundness and stability. He said the bank is the largest and strongest mutual bank in Wyoming, and holds just over $250 million in assets.
