Sheridan Woman Sentenced in District Court

A sentencing hearing was held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan Thursday for a Sheridan woman charged with three felony drug charges. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

District Court Judge John Fenn sentenced 27-year-old Jamie Verley to 4 to 7 years in prison for each of the three felonies that she pleaded guilty to, per terms of a plea agreement with the State. The sentences will run concurrent to each other, and were suspended in lieu of a 9-month split sentence and 5 years of supervised probation following her release from jail.

Judge Fenn also ordered Verley to pay $600 to the Crime Victim Compensation Fund, and $145 in various Court fees. Verley, upon release from jail, must also enroll in, and complete substance abuse treatment. Verley was given 224 days of credit for time served. She was charged with two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine, and one count of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine. The crimes occurred over a one year period from January 2016 to January of 2017.
