The City of Sheridan was recently named “Recycler of the Year” by the Wyoming Solid Waste and Recycling Association after the first full year of its citywide curbside recycling program.

City Solid Waste and Recycling Coordinator Darla Franklin says there has been a significant improvement since last August when the City implemented residential curbside recycling.

Franklin said the award is in large part, due to the community doing their part.

City Solid Waste Manager Charles Martineau said the recycling effort began in 2006 when the city launched drop site recycling and more aggressive recycling commodity sales.
