Sheridan Unemployment May See Temporary Reduction

Sheridan County may soon see a temporary reduction of jobless rates.

Chanda Richards, director of the Department of Workforce Services Workforce Center, said that so far, Sheridan County has lagged behind most of the state.

Statistics for April of this year indicate the average joblessness rate in Wyoming is 5.3 percent, but Sheridan County's rate hovered at 7.1 percent. Richards said we may be due for a temporary boost.

Richards noted employment statistics are usually a month or two behind what's going on in the state's economy.
