The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a small stream flood advisory for areas in Montana and Wyoming including western Sheridan County.

The advisory will be in effect until 2:45 a.m. MDT Saturday. According to the advisory, locally heavy rainfall and heavy mountain snowfall will combine to produce rapid rises on small creeks and streams today, with minor flooding likely of areas adjacent to the waterways.

Both the Big and Little Goose creeks in Sheridan were running high Thursday morning. According to the weather service, locations that may experience local flooding include Sheridan, Ranchester, Dayton, Parkman, Big Horn, Banner and Story, as well as Lodge Grass, Pryor, Fort Smith, Wyola and Crow Indian Reservation in Montana.
