Sheridan School Nominated for National Award

Three elementary schools in Wyoming have been nominated for this year's National Blue Ribbon Schools award, and one is in Sheridan.

That's Highland Park. The others are Glenn Livingston in Cody and Southside in Powell.

The schools were nominated for the honor by the Wyoming Department of Education. The nationwide list of Blue Ribbon Schools will be announced in September by the U.S. Department of Education.

The awards program was founded in 1982 and honors public and non-public elementary, middle and high schools where students perform at high levels or where students are making significant gains in academic achievement.
