Sheridan Police Prepare for ‘Scam Season’

With tax season upon us, the Sheridan Police Department issued a news release Wednesday to remind people that they may receive telephone calls from individuals claiming to be with the IRS. Last year, the Better Business Bureau listed scams involving the IRS, as their top scam of the year.

Director of the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust Carrie Rossman says the IRS typically never contacts people by phone.
