In an effort to better interact with the community they serve, the Sheridan Police Department will be conducting their first ever citizen's academy beginning March 1st. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens explains.

Sergeant Tom Ringley says that students of the academy will be able to experience all facets of the Police Department.

Adriaens indicated that if all goes well, the citizen's academy has endless opportunity.

Anyone interested in signing up for the citizen's academy can stop by the Sheridan Police Department during regular business hours. There will also be information on the academy posted shortly at the City of Sheridan website. While there hasn't been an exact limit put on the size of the class, Ringley said that it will most likely be limited to around 20 participants.
