Sheridan Organization Continues to Collect Donations for Firefighters

A Sheridan organization is gathering supplies to take to the more than 100 firefighters battling a blaze north of Sheridan.

A truck supplied by Fremont Motors Toyota will be at the Farmers Co-op at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Penny Goodman, the originator of Sheridan Neighbors Helping Neighbors said there's an urgent need for the following items for Saturday.

Heavy duty paper plates, plastic tableware, chapstick, sunscreen, jerky, gum, hard candy that won't melt, no chocolate. Handy wipes, sandwich bags, fresh fruit, specifically bananas and oranges. Chewing tobacco of all kinds. Copenhagen, Skoal, Skoal pouches.

Sheridan Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors will not take cash or check contributions. Those need to be taken into Farmers Co-op either the convenience store or on the farm side to be applied to the fire districts fuel bill.

Fire dispatch has specifically stated that no one take contributions to the fire hall or attempt to go to the fire line. They also ask that you stay off the back roads in an attempt to view the fire. Please comply too their request it's for the safety of firefighters and the public.
