Sheridan Mother Charged With Felony In Domestic Dispute

An altercation on Sunday night led to a Sheridan woman being arrested for allegedly attacking her 20-year-old son with a knife. 51-year-old Barbara Barnett made her initial appearance in Sheridan County Circuit Court yesterday on charges of aggravated assault and battery.

The incident was reported to Sheridan Police by a neighbor around 10 o'clock Sunday night. Barnett appeared to be intoxicated and was arguing with her son about whether or not he would be allowed to remain at her residence. It's alleged that Barnett picked up a kitchen knife and cut her son on the ear. The son's injuries were minor and he refused medical treatment at the scene.

The use of a knife warranted the aggravated assault charge which is a felony. Barnett faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted. Her next appearance in court will be a preliminary hearing which has not been scheduled but should be held in the next 10 days

I like it..

I think we need to see more charges against women involved in "Domestic Dispute" ... Maybe at some point the judges of the family court system will wake up.

Mommy Dearest

This sounds like a classic case of reverse Ediphous Complex!
