Sheridan Man Dies in One Vehicle Accident in Johnson County

66-year-old Sheridan resident Marvin Johnson died in a one vehicle accident last Thursday on Interstate 90 37 miles east of Buffalo in Johnson County. In a media release issued Tuesday by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, it states that Johnson was westbound in the Interstate when for unknown reasons his vehicle drifted off the roadway going into the median.

The vehicle then crossed over both eastbound lanes of travel going off the eastbound shoulder of the roadway in the barrow ditch. The vehicle ran parallel to the highway while in the right-of-way at approximately 75 mph for roughly 2,130 feet. The report indicates that the vehicle traveled through two drainage ditches before impacting a drainage culvert. Troopers suspect that Johnson may have experienced some kind of medical condition prior to the crash. The delay in providing the information to the public was due to pending notification of next of kin.
