Sheridan Man Changes Plea in District Court

A Change of Plea hearing was held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan Tuesday for 29-year-old Cody Knode of Sheridan.

Knode was charged with Felony Strangulation of a Household Member for an incident that occurred on August 18 at a residence in Sheridan. Knode pleaded guilty to the charge pursuant to terms of a Plea Agreement with the State that calls for a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison, suspended in lieu of a split-sentence where his jail time will run from when he was arrested and incarcerated in August, until his sentencing early next year.

District Court Judge John Fenn told Knode that the Court is not bound by the terms of the plea agreement and could reject the plea deal at sentencing. Fenn ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and set a sentencing date for February 14 at 9 am.
