Sheridan Man Arrested for Heroin Trafficking

On February 19, 2014, the Northeast Enforcement Team (NEET), with the assistance of the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Casey John Garriffa, of Sheridan, for Delivery of a Controlled Substance/ Heroin.

Garriffa was stopped and arrested in a vehicle in the 2000 block of Val Vista, Sheridan, WY. Garriffa was transported to the Sheridan County Detention Center where he was held pending formal charges by the Sheridan County Attorney’s Office.

Following his arrest, a search of Garriffa, and the vehicle Garriffa was driving, resulted in the seizure of approximately 7 grams of suspected brown tar Heroin, $1187.00, a digital scale and other illegal drug related paraphernalia.

Garriffa’s arrest was related to an investigation conducted by NEET after agents received information that Garriffa was involved in bringing Heroin into the Sheridan area from Oregon, and selling the drug to residents in Sheridan. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are anticipated.

The Northeast Enforcement Team is a regional enforcement team supported by all law enforcement agencies in Northeast Wyoming and comprised of law enforcement officers from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
