Sheridan Junior High Students To Take Rachel’s Challenge

It was over ten years ago when the nation was shocked to hear about events at Columbine High School in Colorado. 12 students and one teacher were killed that day when two students opened fire in the school. Rachel Scott was the first student to perish that day and her family chose to honor her memory by traveling the world delivering a message of kindness and tolerance called Rachel’s Challenge. Sheridan Junior High Assistant Principal Kim Anderson says the challenge is coming to Sheridan on Friday.

The school administration hopes the Challenge will be a wonderful addition to the PBIS program in place at SJHS.

The program has also produced higher attendance rates, and improved academic performances. Junior High students will experience the Rachel’s Challenge program at 8:30 Friday morning. The community is invited to a second program at 7:00 Friday night in the Junior High Auditorium.
