Sheridan, Johnson County Unemployment Rates Lower Than State Average

For the month of May, Wyoming’s average unemployment rate has fallen to 4.1%, down .2% from April’s rate. Both Sheridan and Johnson County’s rates are below the state average with 3.5% and 3.9% respectively. Sheridan and Johnson County’s rates also dropped from April to May Sheridan by .3% and Buffalo by .4%. Compared to last year Wyoming’s average unemployment rate for May was at 5.7%, with Sheridan County’s rate landing at 4.5%, and Johnson County’s at 5.3%.

Niobrara County posted the lowest unemployment rate in May of this year at 2.7%, followed closely by Goshen and Albany counties at 2.8%. The highest rates for the month in the state were found in Natrona County at 5.4%, Fremont at 5.3% and Campbell at 5.1%.
