A Sheridan High School Team is Tops at the Annual Academic Challenge

Written by Judy Hagerott

Whispers of Alex Trabec and echoes of the Jeopardy theme song might just have been heard floating down the halls at the Whitney Building at Sheridan College this past Saturday during the 14th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge.

Fifteen teams from high schools across Wyoming were pitted against each other in the answer-and-question trivia-style competition…buzzer included.  A competition meant to be fun and build camaraderie, the challenge is designed to enhance the learning found in classrooms and is tied into the Wyoming academic standards.

Top overall winner was the Team #1 from Sheridan High School with 142 points.  Team members: Megan Jenkins, Reilly Brogan, Carsten Wills, and Kaitlyn Hepp each will receive one-year of tuition paid to Sheridan College because of their winning efforts.

State finals for the Academic Challenge will be held in April in Casper.
