Sheridan High School Students Take Home Hardware At Culinary Competition

19 teams from various high schools around the state of Wyoming converged on Sheridan this week for the annual Pro Start Culinary Competition held at the Sheridan Holiday Inn. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

Aspiring chef's from all over the Cowboy State squared off in a battle of cooking and managerial skills that ultimately ended with the team from Sheridan High School winning 1st place in the baking competition. I had a chance to “ketchup”, with Lucas Stewart from the award winning team, and he explains what they cooked up to take home the hardware.

Lucas says that there was a lot of elbow grease involved in preparing for the event.

Stewart's award winning teammates' were Makenzie Richins, Megan Laffitte and Kelsie Tarver. The team from Riverton High School took home the Culinary Cup, and Encampment won 1st place in the Managerial Competition. Students from both the Riverton and Encampment teams will take part in the national competition in Overland Park, Kansas April 30th through May 2nd.
